Is it illegal to save videos from youtube and keep them in your documents?

I am trying to make an AMV and I want tot cut clips from youtube videos but i don’t want to save them into my desktop illegally.

Any clip that is taken from a Commercial Movie is Illegal.
If you are trying to make a movie of your own, it must be from, and of your own design from start to finish. Not clips that you have in fact stolen.
These are copyrighted works and are punishable by a $250.000 fine and jail time.

No you can have copies of any video on yoru computer. If you repost them or something maybe someone could get mad. But I download videos all the time with Arcsoft and keep them for myself just incase my internet goes out or I wanna use a clip or something.
