I love this movie. I loved it when it first came out and I love it when I watch it today. Alot of people don't like this movie because it's called Halloween 3 yet has nothing to do with Halloween 1 & 2. I don't mind that fact and I recommend that you rent it and forget the fact that it's title is Halloween 3 and give it a chance – it's a 1980's gore movie that I hope you'll end up enjoying! My only complaint is that there were no extra features – the original trailer would have been cool to see.

Con : DIssapointed in extra features – there were none

So it has nothing whatsoever to do with the previous two movies. That’s somewhat refreshing when one looks back on the countless carbon copy sequels that multiply like rabbits in Hollywood. Halloween III is actually a pretty cool little movie, with a campy atmosphere (as opposed to Halloween II’s grim nihilism), goofy plot and a fast pace. A crazy dude carrying a Halloween mask is being chased by some corporate-looking assassins. He escapes, stumbles into a gas station ranting and raving that “they’re going to get us” and is taken to the hospital, where he’s killed by one of the assassins, who then blows himself to bits in the parking lot. This disturbs Dr. Challis (Tom Atkins) and the crazy dude’s daughter (Stacy Nelkin), who take it upon themselves to investigate his death. Turns out he was a shopkeeper who found out that the Halloween masks he stocked in his store were programmed to kill millions of kids when a TV special airs Halloween night. This plot was devised by evil toymaker Connell Cochran (Dan O’Herlihy), who’s pissed that the Pagan roots of All Hallow’s Eve have been lost in commercialism, and wants to teach us all a lesson. Lots of enthusiastically gross special effects (faces erupt with swarms of bugs and snakes, heads are crushed and ripped off, people puke up green slime) and some great B-movie dialogue make this one a must for genre addicts. Forget those who shrug this one off and give it a fair shot. You’ll be surprised at how genuinely entertaining it is.

Halloween 3 is a good horror movie. a lot of people dislike this movie because Micheal Myers wasn't in it but if you put mike aside its very good. the creators original plan after Halloween and Halloween 2 was to make the series based on Halloween not Micheal Myers. but with the lack of attention 3 was given they reverted to Myers again.

A refreshing change from the Michael Myers relentlessness, which is what the directors of this third film must have been thinking. It could have stood up well on its own but why break up the series this way with something so wholly unrelated? If you put Mike Myers aside and just watch this film as independent-which is what this is- you'll see a good horror movie. Good horror movies keep you interested in them to see what is behind every corner + be a bit of a detective to sort out what is going on. If you pay attention you will pick up on it to see how incredibly evil Halloween really is.

This film always gets a bad wrap. Give the film a chance, the acting isn’t great but it is a cult classic. It is a decent movie for a lazy day. Try it and enjoy.

For some reason, Akkad and Co. decided to make a movie w/ the name of the popular Halloween movie name we all know and love. I don’t know why they used “Halloween” in the title. So if you compare it to the films w/ Michael in it, of course no one’s going to give it any credit. Any open-minded person would then go beyond the title of the movie and look at it as a movie all by itself. And as a horror movie, it was alright. Could be put in the “B” section, you could say. It scared me and was pretty suspenseful. The music and feel of the movie is really creepy. Like the opening scene. I enjoyed the movie because since I already knew it had nothing to do w/ the previous 2 films, I didn’t watch it as a Halloween movie. Maybe you should do the same.

This film had not a THING to do with the Halloween installments, which made this film go to hell. Masks that kill kids would be a better plot for a different movie, not Michael Myers! And turning a woman into a cyborg? How frickin’ lame can that be?! DO NOT EVER WATCH THIS FILM…AT ALL!!!

I saw this movie when I was 12 as a double feature with The Thing. Those were two great movies. Halloween 3 does not have anything to do with Michael Myers but I don;t care. It has a lot of atmosphere and is really entertaining. The music and tone are very creepy, something that is really missing in today’s

Although title is misleading, this is a great flick. The social satire is outstanding, and the concept of a Celtic cult using greed to whack the whole country to whack out a whole generation of American kids is outstanding!
